A farmer's son who chose to specialise.

Vikas Kukreja was born into a farming family in the Tarai belt of Uttarakhand — a region known for its rich alluvial soil and its long tradition of wheat cultivation. He grew up watching his family sow, rogue, and harvest wheat by hand, and he learned early that a good crop begins long before the sowing season — with the quality of the seed itself.

For years he worked alongside farmers as a small trader, and he saw the same problem again and again: mixed lots, unreliable germination, and no one really answering for what was inside the bag. In 2004, he decided to do something about it.

He started Dinesh Agro Seeds with a small production plot and one clear rule: only wheat, and only seed he would happily sow on his own field. That rule has not changed in twenty years.

Under his leadership, the company has grown from a single-village operation to a brand trusted across Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Bihar — but the work still starts the same way it did in 2004: farmers walking their own fields, pulling out what does not belong, and standing behind every bag.
